Selten habe ich die Gelegenheit, einen Text über Betty Paoli (von denen ich schon ziemlich viele verfasst habe, wie Sie auf dieser Seite sehen können – und die Themen gehen mir nicht aus) zu bebildern. Im schönen neuen Heft Ariadne der „Stiftung Archiv der deutschen Frauenbewegung“ aber gibt es zu meinem Beitrag „Moral, Leidenschaft und Brotberuf. Betty Paoli und die Wandlungen der Frauenfrage“ auch ein paar Bilder. Und nicht nur das: Betty Paoli und ihre Tarockpartie haben es auf die Titelseite geschafft.

Unfortunately, the Babel translation site does not speak „Austrian“ German, or actual German at all it would seem! Their translation left me quite confused about your post.

Thank you, Susan! Excellent interpretation on your part, (not so good translation on Babel’s part). Let me clarify: The photograph of Betty Paoli, Ida Fleischl, and Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach playing Tarock (a game, which, as Wikipedia puts it, „is extensively played in Austria and makes a good introduction to the general principles of Tarot play“) didn’t „create it“, but made it on the title page of the publication.
